Talisman First Venture Capital Trust PLC is a generalist VCT, managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers who were awarded the management contract in February 2005. The manager aims to invest the VCT portfolio in up to 70 companies, typically putting no more than 3% of the fund into any one holding. Some VCTs invest in as few as 10 companies, but Aberdeen prefers to create a larger and more diversified portfolio.
